A practical printing guide

Print your WiFi sign at the right size

Make one test copy before printing a stack. The QR, the paper size and the type all need to work together.

Need a printed sign, or just sharing in person?

For sharing Wi-Fi in person, iPhone’s Passwords app and Pixel’s Wi-Fi settings can display a network QR code. Use this maker when you want a fixed-size sign with a QR code and readable network details to leave in a frame or holder.

Choose the size before downloading

The editor offers 4 × 6 in and 5 × 7 in for small frames and tabletop holders, plus A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) for larger signs. All layouts are portrait. Choose the size that matches your paper or frame.

Use PDF for a predictable page size

The PDF page has the physical dimensions selected in the editor. Open it in a PDF viewer and choose 100% or Actual size. “Fit to page” may shrink the sign. Turn off browser headers and footers when using the Print button, and select the matching paper size.

If your printer does not support 4 × 6 or 5 × 7 paper, use a matching PDF page on a larger sheet at actual size and trim it, or ask a print shop. Printer margins and paper handling vary; check the preview rather than assuming borderless printing.

Check the QR on the actual print

Use a phone that has not saved this guest network, or forget its saved connection before testing. Open the camera, scan the printed code and check that it offers the correct network name. Then try joining while near the router; seeing the network name alone does not verify the password. If it does not work, verify the network name, password, security type and hidden-network setting. A code cannot bypass a business sign-in page or enterprise authentication.

Keep the white area around the QR clear. Avoid covering it with a logo, folding through it, or placing glossy plastic where glare makes it hard to scan. The editor places your optional logo away from the QR.

Keep a readable fallback

Leaving the password printed underneath helps guests using laptops or unsupported cameras. If you hide the printed password, it is still inside the QR. Use a guest network where possible; a photo of the code can reveal its credentials.

After a password change

Generate and print a new sign. These codes store the network details directly. They do not connect to a service that updates the password later.
